Garden before starting project

A traditional walled garden

Our brief was to transform a tired, small walled garden into usable space that retained the character of the house and existing boundary walls. We used sand-blasted sandstone cobbles and reclaimed bricks to add a traditional feel to the garden, creating a large, rasied patio and separate small area suitable for a bench at lawn level. A circular lawn with cottage-style planting surrounding it filled the available space. There was even room for a small raised bed from reclaimed bricks for the client to grow herbs and vegetables.
